Set overlooking Darwin Harbour on the historic Esplanade, Government House opened its doors to the Sikh Association of Northern Territory Inc. (SANTI) for a formal Vice-Regal reception celebrating Vaisakhi.
Hosted by the Administrator of the Northern Territory, the reception honoured both the spiritual significance of Khalsa Sajna Diwas and the everyday volunteer service carried out by the Marrara Gurdwara Sahib community — from weekly free Guru ka Langar to support for international students and civic water sewa.
Dressed in vibrant turbans and traditional Punjabi attire, elders, committee representatives, women leaders, and youth of the Darwin Sangat shared this memorable evening on the lawns of Government House, cementing the Sikh community’s enduring place in the civic story of the Northern Territory.
